Like I mentioned in my previous post, I will be taking advantage of my blog to write about (translation: shamelessly promote) my own lenses. I'll explain in some detail why I started that particular lens, how much money I made from it, and things like that.
The first one I'll be reviewing is my Eureka 7 lens. You see, I'm a big fan of Japanese anime, and Eureka Seven is one of my favorites, so it only makes sense that I create a page about it. This anime has a great science fiction story, awesome soundtrack, some comedy and romance, giant robots soaring through the sky on surfboards - cool things like that. You can find out more and watch some videos on my lens.
The lens a pretty old one; I created it soon after the Ever project was started, since I thought 'best anime ever' would fit Eureka Seven very well. I didn't think that much about optimizing it for search engines; I just wanted to grab a good Ever domain before anyone else.
Here are the stats:
Created: Oct 2007
Type: Ever
Content: Text, wallpapers, videos
Main traffic sources: Squidoo, social bookmarks
Lifetime visits: 728
Lensrank: #6,989
Royalties:
As you can see, this lens definitely isn't making me rich (yet) :-) The main problem is that up till recently, Google outright ignored most, if not all Ever domains - because of the quick redirect to squidoo.com and back to check whether you're logged in or not, I expect. However, I was happy to see that it started getting some Google traffic lately, and shows up in the first page for some search queries. Of course, if this means an increase of earnings, it will only show in my stats after two months.
I also am going to create more Ever lenes, now that Google finds them. As for my Eureka 7 lens, I don't plan to make much changes to it: I believe 'Ever' lenses should be short and straight to the point. But like always, I appreciate all comments and feedback!
