I completely missed the changes that Squidoo made to their tag pages in the past week or two. The most notable of these is that tag pages are once again indexable by search engines. I wouldn't know that if it weren't for thefluffanutta's recent post on his SquidUtils blog.
What this means for us Squidoo lensmasters is that choosing good tags (and especially primary tags) is even more important than before. You would probably want to link to (and in return, get linked from) more popular tag pages, and avoid "dead end" tags where your lens is the only one on Squidoo using that tag. Captain Squid has an excellent post with great graphics explaining the idea how linking to popular tags will give your lens more exposure.
You might end up having to check a lot of tag pages to see how popular they are and whether it's worth or not adding that particular tag to your lens. In that case you might find my older post on how to check tag pages fast using Firefox useful.
